Hindeloopen - Molkwerum
This route takes you for a walk along the IJsselmeer. You start in the town of Hindeloopen and end up in the village of Molkwerum. This village used to be an important place for seafarers. Substantial international trade meant that, like Hindeloopen, Molkwerum built up its own culture, dialect, traditional attire and artwork. Molkwerum was also famous for its renowned salted swan meat, signified by the inclusion in the village’s arms of the symbol of a white swan.
